CROSS COUNTRY SKI ADVENTURE
Overview
Our cross-country ski trip takes place at Crater Lake National Park. Couples ski around the rim of the crater and spend the night in a snow cave that you build together as a couple. Skiing is primarily on level areas with the difficulty being moderate to easy; however, the elements can sometimes be very demanding so couples must be physically fit for the demands of winter travel.
Schedule
Trips are scheduled January and February depending on snowpack. The adventure typically takes three days, beginning on Friday and ending Sunday. Each trip is customized to the couple or group so schedules are flexible. We meet at Crater Lake National Park trailhead and ski in together to the first campsite. Saturday is used for additional skiing and sightseeing. Sunday is for the ski out to the parking lot.
Gear
You must provide all of your necessary clothing, sleeping provisions, skis, boots, and poles. We recommend the following:
- Hard shell jacket
- Insulation layers
- Warm hat
- Sleeping bag & pad
- Hard shell pants
- Sunglasses
- Backpack for gear
- Skis, boots, poles
We provide all food, cooking equipment, tent, and permits.
Cost
Our trips are all inclusive with no hidden costs. Due to the customized nature of our trips, we provide a no-obligation Trip Quotation for each adventure. Typical cost for a couple on this three day trip is $800 to $1,000 depending on the gear requirements and special needs. Group rates are available for more than two couples.
Logistics
Start and finish times are flexible and will be coordinated with the couple or group. Transportation to and from Portland International Airport or Eugene Airport can be arranged as part of the trip if needed.
